Itinerary for the trip

Dag 1:

The adventure begins

Today your dream holiday begins as you fly from India to South Africa with stopover(s) along the way.

Lean back and relax so that you are ready for an amazing and intense experience when you arrive in South Africa.

The days ahead of you will undoubtedly bring lots of experiences and leave you with fantastic memories of South Africa’s fascinating wildlife.

Dag 2:

Welcome to South Africa

After a hopefully pleasant flight, you will arrive at O.R. Tambo International Airport located outside Johannesburg, where your guide will be waiting to welcome you.

On your way to the Phuti Lodge, which is located in the popular lowveld area, you will drive through the impressive Drakensberg mountains. The transfer takes approx. 5-6 hours including breaks.

Upon arrival to the lodge, you will have time to explore the area, before dinner is served in open air.

Dag 3:

Game drive in the Big Five area

In the morning, you will go on an atmospheric morning game drive. The footprints from the activities of the night are still fresh, and you might get the chance to experience the Big Five – the elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, and leopard.

You will also have the possibility to experience many other African animals such as giraffes, zebras, kudus, warthogs, and impalas.

During the game drive, you will have a tea / coffee break by a beautiful vantage point, where you can enjoy the first rays of sunshine.

Afterwards, return to the lodge to have breakfast, relax by the swimming pool, and enjoy the amazing view of African wildlife in one of the small observation terraces.

In the afternoon, you will go on an intense bush walk* with a ranger, who can tell you about animal footprints and plants along the way. A bush walk gives you the opportunity to experience the wildlife very differently than from a safari vehicle.

If you are travelling with children, please be aware that children under the age of 12 cannot participate in the bush walk (current legislation).

Returning to the lodge, you will have time to relax before dinner is served.

*If you are doing the Kruger Safari during the South African summer months, the bush walk will be replaced by a game drive focusing on animal footprints. Children from the age of 3 can participate. The visibility in the bush during the summer months is too poor for it to be safe to move around by foot, but if the ranger considers it to be safe, you might get the chance to take a little walk in an area of good visibility.

Unlike other quarters of Dubai, you can easily move around by foot at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR). Thus, you have ample opportunity to explore the area at your own pace and, for example, take a stroll along the promenade at Dubai Marina, which is the world’s largest man-made marina.

A short drive from Jumeirah Beach Residence, you can experience the islands of the gigantic Palm Jumeirah, excellent golf courses, huge water parks, and many other activities.

During your holiday in Dubai, you will have plenty of time to experience the highlights of the vibrant metropolis.

Marvel at the sight of huge and glamorous buildings, enjoy the unique view from the iconic Burj Khalifa, visit the shopping paradise of Dubai Mall, or experience one of the popular shows at Dubai Fountain.

If you are looking for action and entertainment, visit LEGOLAND Dubai, Aquaventure Waterpark, or one of Dubai’s other theme parks, experience the gigantic Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, or stop by Ski Dubai – Dubai’s famous, indoor ski slope at Mall of the Emirates.

Although Dubai is known for luxury and glamour, the Arabian city also boasts interesting culture and history – particularly in the area around Dubai Creek. In this area, you will also find plenty of cafes and restaurants from where you can enjoy the view of traditional dhows (wooden boats) and the hectic life at The Creek.

In this area, you will also have the opportunity to visit the colourful souks of Deira, where you can purchase gold, spices, textiles, and many other things.
